What a Retreat!

This past week I went on a work retreat. It was funner than usual. I participated in an Amazing Race (BYU Style...volunteer work and all), Volleyball and a photography class. I wanted to share some of my photographs I took using all the new techniques I had just learned.

Some people on my team participated on a pie eating contest. I must say, this was a good retreat.

Fear Not the Ferocious Ferris Wheel

This weekend we went to the Carnival. This was Drew's first! I can't believe how much she loved it. She had no fears.
As some of you know, I cannot get on a Ferris Wheel. This fear I believe began when I was very little and my cousin (boy) kept swinging the chair until we were parallel to the ground. This was in Guatemala, so all we had to hold us back was a very lose rusty chain. I have not been able to get over my fear since. I can get on any other rides. In fact, I love roller coasters, just not the Ferris Wheel.

Drew obviously didn't inherit this fear from me, since she insisted on going on the Ferris Wheel. Grant went with her, but she was not even faced by the heights. I just stood nervously looking up at her. I was proud of her.

Frankie's Bday Party

I can't believe that I am the mother of a 12 year old. If it's any conciliation to myself I don't feel old enough to have one. Frankie's Birthday was on June 2nd, but because he's in California visiting his dad we celebrated a bit early. This year, same as the past years 2 years, he wanted to celebrate by taking a few of his friends paint balling. It has become somewhat of a tradition for the men. We, the women, love it too! We get to stay here and do girly things like scrapbook, shop or just hang out and talk.

We also celebrate all together by going out to dinner. Frankie's choice this year...One Man's Band Diner. It's pretty good food, if you like breakfast!
Here's us messing around. Not sure why Frankie's throwing gang signs :)

Dance Festival

Ahhh...6th grade...girls...boys...ackward dancing :)

Here is a little video of Frankie's 6th grade Dance Festival. Although he is doing really good with the dance, I can't help but remember how I felt at that age dancing with a boy. Memories :)
p.s. I didn't realize this but the kid on Frankie's left is actually dancing alone :( (thanks Suzie for pointing that out). This makes this video even better!

I Finally Gave In!

It took lots of convincing from friends and family to make a blog. I finally gave in! Now, I'm not making any promises to update it daily, but I guess it's a start.

So here's my first posting:

I realized that I haven’t shared some of our family pictures for a while. These are of Drew's 3rd Bday Party. If you couldn't tell from the heavy jackets everyone was wearing, it was a Luau! I guess I should've had the party in May and not December!! Oh! Wait! I did have it in May. HEHEHE Notice the picture of Drew's little friend Tyler, standing next to the small heater we had to put out there to keep warm. Anyhow, The party itself was fun, all the kids from the neighborhood can't stop talking about it.

Every time they see Drew, they say "can I come to your party?"

I am proud of the great job I did "making" the cake. NOT REALLY!! Actually, I just bought a plain cake from costco and bought the topper to go on it.

Here's a picture of the after party held by the 3 cousins: Diego, Bryn and Drew. They must of not had enough! They gotta hold of Drew's blue chapstick and pampered themselves!

Well, I hope you like the pictures. Enjoy!
