Disney On Ice 11/2008

OK, here it is! My last post. I'm on a roll! 5 posts in one day. I figured I better do this now before my four day weekend is over. It's amazing how many things I can get done with a few days off. Hopefully next time there won't be such a big time in between posts.

A few weeks ago we were able to go to Disney On Ice. This is Drew's second time going. Drew's favorite part was watching the princesses, of course. She was so excited to see prince "Derick" (Eric from the Little Mermaid). For as much as we try to tell her his name is Eric (from the Little Mermaid) she insists it's Derick. She also enjoyed being able to sing along to all her favorite Disney songs.

My favorite part has always been watching my kids eyes light up as they see all the amazing things that are happening on stage and all their favorite characters come to life.

It was also great to see grandma create memories with Drew and have a good time.

ANYONE WANNA TAKE A GUESS AT WHAT DREW'S NEW FAVORITE GAME IS?

Frankie's True Talent

Since very little, Frankie has shown a great deal of interest in music. He has attempted and succeeded in various instruments, (piano, violin, trumpet). I think he has finally gone back to his original passion...singing!

He has been in the school choir for a few years. This year, he actually had to try out. He is one of seven boys in the choir. He is enjoying it. Recently his teacher had a preview concert. She pointed out how usually during concerts, we, the parents, don't get to capture the full extent of the kids' efforts. She gave us a demonstration of what they've been learning. Everything from posture exercises and breathing techniques to how she teaches them how to learn parts.

I have loaded two videos. One is a song that has helped them learn parts. This particular song, actually has a hidden message. See if you can figure it out. The second video is one of my favorite songs they sang.

Enjoy!

Tia Sonia Visits Utah 8/2008

This is proof that I'm playing serious catch up. My Aunt Sonia came to visit us in August. I haven't seen her since I was about 10 years old. It was so great to see her. Who can forget those amazing dimples and that unforgettable personality!!
Although we only got to see her for a few hours, she made us laugh and reminisce. The kids bonded with her instantly. She made such a lasting impression that Drew still talks about Tia Sonia and the princess dress and shoes she got her.
I was so glad I got to see her and definitely glad that my kids and husband were able to meet her.

Halloween

This Halloween Frankie decided to be the grim reaper. Drew was a witch. Should I be concerned? Actually Drew made it very clear that she was a "nice witch". I really was excited to actually convince one of my children to go with a good old fashioned costume. What happened to being a ghost? or a mummy? I miss those days. Maybe next year I can convince Drew to be a ghost.
p.s. the green witch in the background is me. That's before I put my costume on!!! heheh
